Iowa Interfaith Power and Light will Host a Confence
Faith in a Changing Climate
Iowa Interfaith Power and Light is hosting a workshop specifically designed to address the questions and needs of ministers. The workshop, entitled “Faith in a Changing Climate,” is from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 29, 2009 at the Christian Conference Center in Newton, Iowa and is open to ministers of all faiths.
This is an opportunity to learn from experts more about climate change and its religious dimensions, as well as the simple ways that your faith community and its members can become a part of the solution and save money in the process.
Featured speakers include: Dr. Craig Just—an associate research scientist at IIHR - Hydroscience University of Iowa; Rev. Benjamin Webb—staff person of the Episcopal Diocese of Iowa; and Sen. Rob Hogg—formerly the Global Warming Project Coordinator for Ecumenical Ministries of Iowa.
To register for this event, please email Tim Fink at director@iowaipl.org with your title, name, congregation, and dietary preference (Meat/Vegetarian). A registration fee of $7.50 will be charged at the door to offset the cost of the materials and lunch.
